So another drift event happened in my area, and naturally, I had to shoot it, and just like last time, I found the best spot outside of the marked off area, clearly labeled with caution tape, and posted up, in the "safety zone". Shortly I was joined by another photographer from out of town and we exchanged camera settings and witty banter while pausing every little bit to capture the tire shredding insanity happening mere feet from us. I had posted behind a tree for protection in the event of an out of control car, though really, I know this would offer little in the way of protection, it just made me feel better. After a a little bit, this happened. And then I knew, it was time to move. Again. Sure enough, shortly thereafter, officials came to have the stupid photographer near the apex of the last turn move before he gets killed. This cone could've injured/killed me, and though I'm fine, it really drives home the point that photography is an art, and sometimes you need a better brush, so next go round, I'll try and have a longer lens, to get further back, and avoid getting pelted about the head and neck by car parts/cones/tire shreds/whole cars, because it's just not worth dieing for.
