Stubbs finally got a camera. It took some time, but he got one, and he asked me for some advice on how to make it work properly, so we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards, which had recently had a large collapse due to an epic windstorm, to get some lens time before he took a trip out of state with his new toy (a Canon XTi). We went over the basics of camera function, composition and exposure, and then did some test shots, he with his XTi, and me with my SL1, and while there are a ton of great things to photograph at the Stockyards, typically I chose to focus on something pretty much totally unrelated to stockyards, cattle, or Fort Worth history in general: Birds. I've been on a monochrome kick lately, and coupled with my strange fascination with photographing birds (but not in a nature photography way), this made for some interesting shots, and amazingly, no bird droppings on me or my gear (Bonus!). Anywho, as always, enjoy the photos. Also, I included one non bird photo.
